Why is it still so hard to talk about mental health without feeling judged?

We say the words "mental health matters" like a mantra — and then someone actually opens up, and the room gets uncomfortable in that very specific way.

The stigma didn't disappear. It just learned to wear a more acceptable face.

Have you ever tried to be honest about your mental health and regretted it — or has someone ever surprised you by actually showing up for you?

  1. I think mental health is still hard to talk about because many people still judge even if they don’t say it directly. I experienced opening up before and sometimes people become awkward or they don’t know how to respond anymore. That’s why many choose to stay quiet.
But I also met some people who really listened without judging me. No big advice, just listening and being there. Sometimes that already helps a lot.
