For a lot of people, accepting a compliment feels almost dangerous — like agreeing with it means you're arrogant, or disagreeing is just being polite, so you deflect, minimize, or laugh it off instead.
Most of the time, the discomfort isn't about the compliment at all — it's about a deeper belief that you're not quite as good as what's being said about you.
Learning to simply say "thank you" and let it land is one of the quietest, most radical acts of self-worth there is.
What do you think?
Your words might be exactly what someone needs to hear.
