Is it okay to outgrow your oldest friends?

There's a particular guilt that comes with realizing the people who knew you first don't really know who you're becoming — like growing means you're leaving them behind, or worse, that you think you're better than where you all started.

But people change, and sometimes the only thing holding a friendship together is history — and history alone isn't always enough to build a present on.
